From the Foster:

Silvy, or as we’ve been calling her, Tejas or Te, has stolen our hearts. She is an absolute love bug, hasn’t yet met a stranger. If you think she looks cute on the site, just wait until you meet her... she’s impossibly adorable. I doubt you’ll need more info but here’s a run down of all the wonderful things about her to help determine if she’s the perfect fit for your family :)

Potty training

She is doing wonderfully on a schedule! Since she’s a puppy, it’s important that she be let out in the middle of the day for now. But as long as you take her out as soon as you let her out of the crate, she’s a rockstar. She’s been sleeping through the night without incident or accident.

Crate training

It’s a work in progress! We’re doing a lot of positive reinforcement and she walks in and out of the crate whenever she’s out and about. She does whine for maybe 5-10 minutes but then settles. If she keeps whining, you might just need to let her out again! Playing music seems to help!

General training

We’re working on walking nicely on a leash and she’s getting better each day! We’re also working on sit and come. She seems SUPER food motivated. She also loves to play - with you, with toys, whatever is fun! I think she’ll be a pretty trainable pup.

Kids : She’s met a couple kids and was just fine! She does like to use her little shark teeth, though, so we’re working on saying “OW!” any time she nips. Definitely just a regular puppy phase, so just watch her around any littles and you’ll be fine.

Dogs: she seems a bit submissive around other pups but when she meets a dog she likes, she wants to PLAY! She’d be perfectly fine on her own but would probably love a dog friend to run around and cuddle with.

Cats: she’s only met 1 and was very interested. Would probably be OK with a dog-smart kitty.
