From the Foster:

Are you looking for an amazing family dog who wants to be your best friend forever? Because this guy is IT.

Steele is a gentle goofy boy with an attitude of gold. He loves to play, explore, get snuggles, pounce on leaves, lick the resident dog's face, wake the kids up in the morning with his enthusiasm and nose (and tail, and bum, and paws), curl up into a ball that seems impossibly small, and be a good boy. He really really really wants to chase squirrels and meet EVERY dog at the park with a giant tail wag and a sniff. People? Loves all of them.

Steele still a lot of puppy in him, but is pretty chill & well behaved. He’s potty trained & learned sit in a day. He can make it all night, although he’s an early bird (he’s still a pup, after all). He does need to work on his leash manners, but he can’t help it - his enthusiasm takes over! And when he crashes, he crashes hard (preferably on a soft squishy couch, but I’m sure he could be trained otherwise).

He’s crate trained, although he’d MUCH rather be out and about with you. He will settle down in the crate, however, but not before giving you a few moans of dismay.

Steele doesn’t have a shy bone in his body. He LOVES people. His favorite way to greet you is to come from behind, stand between your legs, and smile up at you. His tail wags in a full 360-degree circle most of the day.

He’s got a ton of lab in him - loves people, a little dopey, a lot smart. He's got an incredibly gentle mouth, and he uses that mouth to pick up whatever's on the floor, including kids' toys and shoes. He doesn’t chew the shoes, but we’ve had to hunt a lost sneaker down more than once! (Hint: check the top of the stairs).

He might do okay in an apartment, as long as he gets a lot of time with & attention from humans. As a moderately active puppo, he does need some exercise. He’d love someone who likes to explore, walk, and play. He’d love to have kids around him (he’s latched on to an 8YO in particular at his foster’s, although he also adores the 4 & 10YOs). He also adores the resident dog, although he’d be fine solo, too, as long as he got a human. And he’d love a robust social life.

In short, Steele’s ready to take on his duty as a lovable, good boy sidekick for life.
