From the Foster:

Polanco better known as Pelli came to us one day this past June.  She was the runt of the litter at only 3 pounds, dwarfed by her 10 pound+ siblings. Pelli's owners reached out to us after hearing about the Secondhand Hounds Neonatal Program. Pelli had obvious genetic defects including back limb deformities, neurological deficits, as well as incontinence issues. Pelli had quite the road ahead of her but quickly learned how to navigate life as a "specially abled" puppy. Humanely euthanizing her would not have been the wrong decision, but in Pelli she showed us that she WANTED to live.  No matter what obstacle she has faced she is a happy puppy that loves life. With the help of fabulous vet team Pelli had her eyes fixed (double cherry eye surgery - VERY common in any bulldog), has been spayed, and has been given the green light to begin the search for her very own forever family.

Due to her neurological defect and back limb deformities Pelli will never be able to walk normally.  She does have a wheelchair as well as a scooter but she could actually prefer to hop or scoot along in her own unique way.  Pelli is also urinary and fecal incontinent so she will need a special adopter that is ok expressing her, I'm happy to chat further in detail about this with interested applicants after an application is submitted. She wears diapers but does benefit from diaper free time wether this is outside or during monitored playtime inside.

On the non-medical side Pelli has grown leaps and bounds since intake.  She is now 13 pounds and is a happy rolly polly English Bulldog. She LOVES attention from everyone she meets, she races around her foster home as quickly as her "normal" puppy friends, she has learned to scale a few steps, loves to play in the leaves with her foster siblings, and is a world class snuggler.  Pelli will always be different but she's got a passion for life that is contagious.

For more information about Pelli please fill out an application and I will reach out with more information and to discuss her needs more in depth.
