From the Foster:

Mini is the sweetest little soul.  We’ve only had her for a week but she’s settling in nicely and is foster Mom’s little shadow and couch buddy.  She loves to lie on the big couch pillows and is now comfortable enough to cuddle on my lap and give me kisses.  She’s very quiet and would do well with shared walls.  She gets along well with my 9 year old but would probably be a little nervous around little kids.  She is house and crate trained and would need to have a crate available in her new home; she used hers quite a bit when she first arrived and enjoyed having a place to go if she got nervous.  She was sleeping in it at night because she was more comfortable having her own little den to sleep in so I was keeping her kennel next to my bed at night.  Now that she’s comfy and confident in my home she’s discovered the joys of sleeping in her human’s bed so that’s where she sleeps now!  She’s quiet until I get up.  Mini does great walking on a leash with her harness and mostly sticks right by my side.  If she wanders a little bit to sniff and explore she’s always checking to see where I am and comes right to me when called.  Since she’s so little she doesn’t need long walks.  She doesn’t seem to know how to play with toys, after a week we finally saw her start to interact with them a little bit so as she learns how to “dog” she might get more playful.  Right now she prefers to just be with her people.  We love her!

She does have a couple of medical things going on right now which are all being treated and she’ll be 100% in no time!  I think she’s had a tough life and seems grateful to just be petted and loved.  She’s recovering from kennel cough and is on meds right now.  She’s going in for a dental cleaning and will most likely need some teeth pulled as some are loose and/or broken.  She’s eating soft food right now until we can get her teeth taken care of and then she should be able to move to dry food if her owners prefer that.  She LOVES American cheese for a treat!  Mini is also recovering from flea bite allergies.  The itching is getting much better but she has hair loss from scratching and has some dry flaky skin so she’s not looking her best quite yet.  But I’m already starting to see her fur growing back which is very encouraging so she should have a nice full coat again now that the allergies were treated.

She’s a wonderful, special little girl who deserves to be spoiled for the rest of her life!
