From the Foster:

Balto is a high-energy people pleaser! He loves to follow us around and cries to get the attention he wants. He prefers to be near his family and tends to get anxious if left home alone for too long. His leash skills have vastly improved and will only get better with practice. Balto is highly food motivated and eager to please which should make training easier. He knows some basic commands but will thrive with some obedience classes and further training. As a working breed, he does need plenty of exercise every day-a fenced yard would be ideal. He is house trained as long as he gets let out regularly. He seems to be crate trained and enjoys sleeping in it at night but the door is always open. All in all, Balto has been a treat to foster and will make a great addition to a lucky family.

Balto was hit by a car and suffered a significant paw/foot injury. We've done physical therapy for the past couple months following his surgery and he no longer limps and loves to run around the yard but will never be your marathon partner! It's also possible that he will develop arthritis in that leg at some point in his life.
