From the Foster:

Sweeney is a super easy dog to have around. She gets compliments from everyone we meet. She is a favorite at all our local dog friendly restaurants and hang outs, and staff always remember her and make a point of coming over to say hi to her. She is dog friendly, loves people, and is house trained and crate trained. She will initially whine when first put in her crate but she will be quiet after a few minutes and when you come back will patiently wait to be let out. But she does not need to be crated. She has free roam of my place when I am gone and has never chewed, scratched, or gotten into anything.

She is very non-reactive to other dogs and people. If another dog is pulling and barking to get at her she will calmly walk past them. But if another dog or person initiates saying hi to her she is nothing but excited wiggles. She is great to take along to restaurant patios and outdoor events. Even with a lot of commotion going on around her she is just calm and chill. She is good on a leash but she will pull to try to chase squirrels or rabbits. She is not cat friendly as I think she thinks they are big squirrels :) She is not a dog that needs a lot of exercise. She is always up for a walk but she is happy to just hang out at home by your side. While she is nothing but kind right from when first meeting people, she does need a few days to really open up and show her affectionate side. She knows sit, shake, and comes when called. She is so easy going that other commands have not been an issue as I never have to tell her to do something other than occasionally to sit down.

Sweeney generally does not ask to play or to meet new people or dogs but if another dog or person initiates saying hi to her and wanting to play she is so happy and excited to do so. She does play pretty hard so if living with another dog she would do best with a dog that can tolerate her excited play style. She does however listen well to being told she is being a bit much in her playing.

Sweeney has chronic mild allergies that are controlled by medication and regularly giving her baths with medicated shampoo and/or applying a medicated mousse. It is really not a big deal and easy to deal with, and the medication is inexpensive (in looking online the medication is $1.60 - $2 a tablet depending where you get it and Sweeney gets half a tablet a day). But her forever home will need to stay on top of controlling her allergies.

This girl is seriously a gem and I have no doubt she will be a great dog for her forever home!

I was recently treated for heartworm disease but I'm feeling much better now. Please let SHH know if you have any questions!
