From the Foster:
Are you looking for a teeny tiny shadow? A little guy with a brave spirit who would follow you to the ends of the earth? Then I'd like you to meet Eagle.
Eagle is an incredibly sweet and silly little guy who loves his person with all his heart. He also LOVES cats! His dream would be to have a home with a playful kitty friend or a calm dog who won't mind letting Eagle be the boss. He loves playing chase and rolling around to play with our younger cat and prefers playing with her over our dog! After a good round of play he loves to lay in a lap and take a snooze until he's ready for his next adventure. And this boy loves adventure!
Eagle walks like a pro on his leash and wants to be outside every chance he can. He also adores his special person and wants to be with them 24/7. He does howl for a while when you leave so shared walls may not be best for him unless you are home a lot or can take him with you when you leave. Eagle would love a home with someone who is home more often and who will want him to be a sidekick to them! He loves car rides and being carried in a sling or wrap so can go lots of places with you!
As with all dogs that are so small, he will need to be closely supervised with young children who may try to hold him and accidentally drop him. He is learning he can say no and will growl if someone tries to hold him and he doesn't want them to. This is a good thing! He feels safe enough to say no and be heard which stops a nip from happening. He will also need a family who is willing to learn about the chihuahua breed and make some modifications at home to keep him safe (if needed). He is so small that he doesn't do very well with stairs. He runs fast and falls down, so stairs will need to be blocked off to keep him safe.
He is in the process of learning house training and needs to be monitored when out right now. He holds his bladder all night long in his crate which is great! With frequent let outs he doesn't have accidents in the house either.
Eagle is as sweet as they come and he just knows his forever family is out there waiting for him!
