From the Foster:

Oliver Samuel Jr. or "Junior" isn't just a pretty face – he’s a good boy too! Junior is excited to have arrived just in time for patio season in Minneapolis and has already enjoyed "yappy hour" on a few patios! He is a sweet and happy guy.

Manners Because he is so excited, Junior will jump up on people when he is meeting them. We are working on teaching him "down" but it will take some time and repetition before he picks up on it. We have not had him around children yet but he hasn't ever been aggressive toward adults. When Junior plays, he will growl with his toy in his mouth but it doesn't seem aggressive or mean. He's just having fun playing.

Routines Junior has been accident-free since arriving. He is left home alone during the day while we are at work. He isn't destructive so he most likely would be fine left out to roam but we have been keeping him in his crate while we are away. He will go in for treats and barks just a little when we first leave and then he settles down. We usually take Junior for a short walk in the morning and the evening. In the evenings, he enjoys hanging out on the couch with us relaxing and playing with toys!

Walks Junior sometimes barks at dogs or people that are passing by on walks. He also has hopes of someday catching a squirrel or a bunny so he easily gets distracted. We live downtown but it seems Junior is more accustomed to a quieter environment with fewer people and creatures. Junior wants to say hello to everyone so we’ve been working on having him "sit" when he sees someone coming his way. If he sits, he gets a treat! Just like any behavior change, it will take some time before he masters it. Junior does know "sit" though and will do it for a treat if there aren't too many distractions around!

Zzzzzs At night, Junior sleeps in our bed but knows to sleep at the end of the bed on his blanket. He goes to bed nicely and sleeps until our alarms go off in the morning. At that point, he is up and ready for his breakfast and morning walk. It is hard to be cranky in the morning when you wake up to such a happy guy! Junior is a great dog that is excited to find his furever home.
