From the Foster:

My name is Valentino, but most people call me Tino.  I’m a big lug of a guy, short and stout.   In many ways, I’m a big clumsy pup still, not totally in control of my legs or where my body is going to stop, but that makes my foster dad laugh…until I land on top of him sometimes.

I’ve been living with my foster dad, and his dog, and we’re all basically best friends.  I get along well with every single person I’ve met, big or small.  The smaller kids can get a little nervous because I get excited and I’m a big clumsy guy.  But I swear I just want to love them, but maybe older kids would be better for me.  I’ve met a handful of dogs around the neighborhood and think they’re all pretty cool, but just like smaller kids, the smaller dogs get a little nervous around me because of my size, so maybe larger dogs are better for me.

My foster dad says I’ve got a wonderful, loving temperament and I thrive when I can be with him or people in general.  I’m a bit of a shadow and I like to be involved in whatever he’s doing…eating, working on his computer, mowing the yard, or just hanging on the couch.  It’s better together, that’s what I think.

I’m housebroken, and I haven’t gotten into too many things that I shouldn’t have when he’s not looking, but I still go into my crate when my foster dad goes to work and at night.   I don’t mind it in the least, though, as long as I get a treat when I go in.  I’m not much of a barker, either, which I guess is a good thing.  I’ve been trying to learn some commands and some tricks, but I’ll be darned if remembering isn’t a hard thing to do sometimes.  I’ve got ‘sit’ down well, and I know what ‘lie down’ and ‘stay’ mean, but, yeah, those aren’t much fun.

I think the kind of home I’m looking for is one where I can be loved, get lots of cuddles, and get a decent amount of exercise.  I’d prefer to have another pup to live with, just because I really like the bond that comes with that and having a buddy.

If you think you’d like to meet me, fill out an application and let’s do it!  I’m already excited about meeting you.

I was recently treated for heartworm disease. Please let SHH know if you have any questions!
