From the Foster: Jackson has a heart of gold. He is a special guy that will need some special attention! Jackson is paralyzed from the waist down... but that doesn't slow him down! In the house he moves around great. He cannot go upstairs so he does need to be carried up the stairs...and loves to snuggle on the couch and bed (which he needs a helping hand to get on).
Outside he has his wheels!! He loves to be able to walk and run. He is an outdoors kind of man! Whether it's laying out in the sun, checking out the grass or walking thru the neighborhood he's beyond happy outside! He can not control his bladder nor his bowels. He does wear belly bands and diapers. He will tell you when he is wet or needs to have a bowel movement.
When it's time to get changed he is so patient and lets you clean him up...and he will give you hugs and kisses in return! He loves toys, bones, eating and TREATS. He does take pain medicine because he does have some feeling back there...but to him it's a chance for a treat! He listens very well.
He does great with other dogs and cats and loves the neighborhood kids! Jackson would do best in a home that has someone home often to care for him...he does not like to be wet or sit in stool...but hey who would! He is receiving acupuncture weekly to help possibly regain some control of his bowels and bladder. If you open your heart and home up to this sweet boy you will have a home full of love,
