From the Foster:

Jackson has a heart of gold. He is a special guy that will need some special attention! Jackson is paralyzed from the waist down, but that doesn't slow him down! In the house he moves around great. He cannot go upstairs himself but with a little help he can get up them...and loves to snuggle on the couch and bed (which he needs a helping hand to get on).

Outside he has his wheels or his ski's in winter!! He loves to be able to walk and run. He is an outdoors kind of man! Whether it's laying out in the sun, checking out the grass, watching and listening to the wildlife or walking/skiing thru the neighborhood he's beyond happy to be out! He moves very fast and loves to explore so a fenced in yard would be preferred.  He cannot control his bladder nor his bowels. He does wear belly bands and diapers. He will tell you when he is wet or needs to have a bowel movement.

When it's time to get changed he is so patient and lets you clean him up...and he will give you hugs and kisses in return! He loves toys, bones, eating and TREATS. He does take pain medicine because he does have some feeling back there...but to him it's a chance for a treat! He listens very well.

He does great with other dogs and cats and loves the neighborhood kids! Jackson would do best in a home that has someone home often to care for him...he does not like to be wet or dirty...but can you blame him! He does bark to let you know what he needs or wants.  Most of the time the bark is necessary such as when he wants to get up on the couch but other times, he wants what he cant have and he will let you know!

Jackson does have anxiety that he takes medication for.  It is mostly controlled but will still have a few episodes.  When he does, he just wants to be by you and have you touch him to help calm him down. He will let you know when he is good, because he will go and lay down. A routine is good for Jackson.  He loves going places but sometimes can become overwhelmed and this is when his anxiety kicks in.

If you open your heart and home up to this sweet boy you will have a home full of love, laughter and cuddles!
