From the Foster:
Mack is a beautiful two-year-old lab mix. He has adjusted to the new home environment well. With only a few accidents in the beginning, he picked up house training quickly and now knows outside is the only place to do his business. Mack is very mellow and enjoys sleeping throughout the day. His favorite part of the day is going for walks along the river. Mack does not pull on the leash, which in return makes walking with him enjoyable. However, he does like to switch sides in front of me causing me to trip over him if I’m not paying attention. He also likes to stop at every tree and pole to mark his sent. Mack is a very big boy of 90 lbs, and even though he has knocked me over once or twice out of excitement when I return home – he is still extremely sweet and gentle. He loves giving kisses and curling up next to me.
Mack does seem to like to play with other dogs, but so far does best one on one, and he does need a little bit of 'get to know you' time before feeling comfortable enough to be friendly.
Also, I have noticed that he does shy away from men. He seems more comfortable when dealing and interacting with women. Mack does much better left out of his kennel – he does not have house accidents, and has not chewed on anything or destroyed anything while I’m away. He just sleeps on the couch waiting for my return. I do allow him to go on my furniture and bed, but he usually will not go on either unless I give him the go-ahead. Mack is definitely not a trouble maker. He acts mature for his age, and even though he’s well behaved, he does still need work on training in general!
Overall, Mack is just a gentle giant. He has a few issues but I believe every behavior can be helped and taught with time and patience. He is a very sweet and loving dog with a big heart awaiting his forever home.
