From the Foster:

Betty Jo has been the greatest foster dog I've had opportunity of taking care of. She's fully kennel and house trained. She spends most of her day in her kennel by her choice. She chooses to come out when the house is calmer to rest by your feet at the dining table, sit in your lap on the couch, or to greet you and be petted. Betty is highly affectionate and will greet you with enthusiasm regularly. She is a little on the shy side, but this does not hinder her from being a wonderful family dog. She is not afraid of approaching new people if there is someone nearby that can make her comfortable. I think she does better with another dog around initially. She has been on heartworm treatment while under my care. This required her to be kept at a low level of energy. She behaved perfectly despite not being able to exercise. Her energy level will match whatever you're doing and she can turn it on and off like a light switch. Since she had heartworm, she will need to be on Heartguard every month instead of just mosquito season.  Please let SHH know if you have any questions!

I think Betty Jo is an amazing dog. Ultimately, the only reason I chose to not adopt her myself is because I want to limit the number of dogs in my house. If I kept Betty, I forgo my ability to foster. I am able to let her go because I am confident that she'll be the perfect addition to the perfect family.
