Please fill out the adoption application (below) if you would like to meet one of our secondhand hounds! Disclosure: MANY of our dogs are mixed breeds. Our staff, the shelter staff they came from, and a veterinarian might all have different opinions on breed. We CANNOT make guarantees on breeds.

***Meeting one of our dogs/puppies does not guarantee adoption. We often have many applications for the same dog, and must make a determination on what home is best for the specific dog. Unfortunately, this means that sometimes we have to turn down great people for adoption- please don’t take that personally!***

SECONDHAND HOUNDS DOES NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF MINNESOTA, IOWA, ILLINOIS, WISCONSIN, AND THE DAKOTAS! IF WE CANNOT LOCATE A HOME VISIT VOLUNTEER IN YOUR AREA, THEN WE ARE UNABLE TO APPROVE YOUR ADOPTION REQUEST.  SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE!

SECONDHAND HOUNDS DOES NOT ADOPT DOGS TO FAMILIES WHOSE CURRENT PETS ARE NOT UP TO DATE ON SHOTS OR UNALTERED. EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE FOR MEDICAL REASONS, AS STATED BY A VETERINARIAN. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING OUR MISSION TO REDUCE OVERPOPULATION.
